This is a challenge for members of Gwynedd Bowmen.  It is open to visiting archers under the rules below.  
It is an outdoor challenge only.
The recurve challenge is to score 252 points with 36 arrows at set distances.  For compound archers, the
required score is 282.  For barebow and longbow, the table gives required scores at each distance.  
Target face sizes are as set out in that table.  Imperial Scoring 9,7,5,3,1, is to be used at all distances
which are as follows, - each distance has a colour badge award:-






20yds - Green    30yds - White    40yds- Black    50yds - Blue    60yds- Red    80yds - Gold    100yds - Purple

Rules:-
1. The score set out in the table or more to be achieved from 3 dozen arrows, (six ends of six arrows).
2. Six sighters may be shot immediately before commencing the round.
3. The 3 dozen arrows may only be shot as a specific 252 challenge round, or as the first 3 dozen of a
longer imperial round.
4. There is no restriction on the order in which badges are obtained, i.e. - you may achieve a 60 yard
badge, and then go for a 20 yard badge.  
5. You may achieve the badge of a particular colour once, regardless of bowstyle.  Nevertheless, your
score and bowstyle will be recorded, and you may shoot the rounds again after gaining the badge in order
to achieve better scores, and to record scores under different bowstyles.
6. Younger archers may also apply the scores to obtain ArcheryGB Progress awards in accordance with
the rules of that scheme.  A separate score sheet for that scheme must also be completed and submitted
for the sake of good order.
7. This scheme does not count towards handicap scores.
8. Claims must be submitted on Gwynedd Bowmen’s score sheet, and must be properly witnessed and
completed.  Claims for juniors’ must be scored by a senior archer.
9. Achievement must be confirmed and accepted by the scheme organiser before a badge is granted.
10. Visiting archers may only achieve these badges at a club target night or shoot organised and arranged
by Gwynedd Bowmen and with the approval of Gwynedd Bowmen.
11. GNAS rules of shooting apply.
12. Badges cost £2.50 each (plus postage costs if needed).  Awards of badges will be made from time to
time at the discretion of the scheme organiser.
